Decorator Meeting - WEDECOR

My mom and I met with our third choice for a decorator, WEDECOR. Very impressed! Not only does she live walking distance from me but she has her own "studio" in the backyard of her parents home. It's basically a garage completely renovated into an office. She has samples of EVERYTHING! It's really quite a nice change to be able to physically see how things will look rather than just looking through photos or just trusting the decorator when they say it will look good. This one even makes invitations and wedding favours. It seems like a one stop shop which is what I'm looking for so I won't have to worry about 20 different types of vendors. SHe's really friendly and professional. She handles flowers, decor and invitations and favours. She has contacts for cake & limo service as well

We will be meeting with the Tudor Hall decorator in a week's time, our last possible choice. (didn't want too many to choose from)

Engagement Dinner

Tonight my mom & stepdad are hosting a family only engagement dinner. It's very informal and it's mostly a "meet n' greet" for both families. Since Jimmy's parents live in Halifax, we invited his older sister and her husband and kids over for a nice dinner.

Decorator Meeting - A Beautiful Wedding

My mom and I went to meet our second choice for a decorator. She lived all the way in Kanata. Far into Kanata :(

It turned out to be a total waste of our time. Do not book with a beautiful wedding. The girl was not organized in the least and she was all over the place. Right away we didn't get the best impression. She really hasn't had much experience at all and as much as I'd like to give her the chance to prove herself, there is big amounts of money to be used and frankly, that worries me. Plus it's one of the most important days of my life and I'd like everything to try to go smoothly and I'd feel safer with someone who has at least 5 yrs under her belt you know? Nice girl though.

Decorator Meeting - Mariages Ottawa Weddings

My mom and I met with our first decorator choice today, Mariages Ottawa Weddings. Very good first impression!!

It's 2 best friends who do all the work. They handle flowers, decor, invitations, cake and even limo service. The funny thing is, that we found out they are the ones doing the decor for my brother's wedding in June next year!! haha small world we'd end up picking them as one of our choices by total fluke!
